Support Your PTSA Through Fundraising
Why does the PTSA conduct fundraising activities?
Our PTSA is an independent nonprofit organization with a mission is to support the education, health, and welfare of our children at Blackwell. The PTSA conducts a variety of programs to finance these endeavors.

Where does my money go?
Blackwell PTSA funds almost $40,000 in programs, events, equipment, teacher enrichment, and services each year to benefit our students. Programs include Read Naturally and Art Start; events include International Celebrations, author visits, and special assemblies; and services include Vision and Hearing Screening.

See our Programs and Committees and our budget for complete details.

What fundraisers can I expect this year?
Pass the Hat is the primary fundraiser during the school year. Funds collected through Pass the Hat finance the PTSA's yearly operating budget. State and federal budgets do not meet all the needs of our students and so we must call upon parents to step into the gap to provide those enrichment programs that will motivate our children to excel.

Corporate Matching Gift Programs help! Blackwell PTSA is a 501(3)c nonprofit charitable organization. If you work for a corporation, such as Microsoft or Boeing, that offers a matching gift program, your gift to Blackwell can be doubled. Please ask your Human Resources department for information, fill out the proper forms, and return them to Blackwell PTSA's treasurer.

If you prepare your matching gift form online, please designate "Blackwell Elementary PTSA" as the recipient organization.
What else can I do to help the school?

Participate in "passive" fundraising. By collecting box tops and Campbell's Soup labels, shopping with certain local retailers, or registering your store loyalty cards, many corporations will donate a portion of your purchase prices to our PTSA.

 eScrip.com

At eScrip.com, you can register loyalty cards for stores like Safeway, Eddie Bauer, and Dream Dinners, as well as your debit and credit cards. Merchants donate a portion of your purchases for each card you've registered to our PTSA. Your purchases are tracked so you can always go back to eScrip to see just how much your normal shopping has earned for the PTSA.

Designate Elizabeth Blackwell PTSA to receive contributions. Our Group ID is #8560540.

General Mills Box Tops for Education

Cut out the pink "Box Tops for Education" rectangle on participating General Mills products like cereals Cheerios, Lucky Charms, and Total; paper products like ZooPals plates and bowls, Viva Paper Towels, and Ziploc bags; prepared foods like Hamburger Helper and Pillsbury Crescent Rolls; snacks like Yoplait Go-Gurt and Betty Crocker Fruit by the Foot; even Avery office supplies. For each box top sent in to your child's classroom, General Mills donates 10 cents to the PTSA.

Plus, throughout the year, the classroom that brings in the most box tops earns a pizza party!

 Target.com

Use your REDCard and Target will donate up to 1% of your purchases at Target and Target.com to Blackwell PTSA. Target will also donate 1/2% of purchases made with the Target VISA credit card directly to Blackwell PTSA.

 Everything Party
