Blackwell Gingerbread House Contest - December 21
Blackwell's Annual Gingerbread House Contest Friday, December 21!        You and your child do not need to be expert decorators (note: the gingerbread Seattle skyline image was designed by local Seattle architects - the picture has been provided for inspiration!) or bakers to participate. Kits can be purchased at the store and are easy to complete. You just need candy, frosting, and a little bit of imagination.  Just bear in mind that your gingerbread creation must be at least 75% gingerbread.   Every student will have a chance to admire the gingerbread houses and vote for his/her favorite. October is Walk to School Month!
October is Walk to School Month!   Beginning Monday, October 4th,  students are encouraged to walk, bike or scooter to school, and record their progress in the calendars that will be coming home shortly. We'll have fun activities on some of the days, and give prizes to walkers on select days too. For kids that take the bus, as long as they walk to and from the bus stop, they are counted as walkers!
