  UNSPOKEN   Documentary Screening, October 15 Join the LWPTSA Council Special Education Group for a screening of  UNSPOKEN , a groundbreaking point-of-view journey into a non-fluent speaker's world. Co-directed by autistic teen making disability history,  UNSPOKEN   challenges societal judgement surrounding autism and shifts the dialogue around autism towards one of inclusion, self-advocacy and human rights for all.  Watch a trailer for the documentary   The event opens at 6:30pm with networking. Walk to School month in October is an internationally-recognized event that encourages students to walk before and/or after school. It's also a great opportunity to build a stronger sense of community!    Let's Get Started! Hopefully, an October "Walk to School Month" calendar tracker made it home from school! Look for that and help your student track how he/she travels to and from school. Prizes handed out for our biggest walkers - and look for fun activities all throughout the month! We are happy to announce that this year Blackwell Elementary School will again host the AMC 8 math competition, which will be held on Tuesday, November 12, between 8:00AM to 9:00AM. Targeted participants are 4 th and 5 th grade students with a passion for problem-solving. What is the AMC8? The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. The AMC 8 provides an opportunity for students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers.
