PTSA Used Book Fair: January 24 - 26   Out with the old and in with the USED! It’s time to go through your dusty bookshelf and pull out the ones your kids have outgrown. Each year we collect several thousand books, games, and puzzles. The two classrooms that collect the most books get first pick at the book fair. Math Club
On November 14, 2017, 34 Blackwell students participated in the AMC 8 contest organized by the Mathematical Association of America.  The AMC 8 is an individual competition covering middle school mathematics up to 8 th grade.  This year over 102,000 students took the test worldwide. Thirteen Blackwell students scored in the top 25% of test takers in all grades: Hongning Wang, Christopher Dickman, Advaith Vankamamidi, Arthur Gong, Sneha Sharma, Nathan Gong, Brooke Lin, Karkit Chew, Guhan Kumar, Samantha Ryan, Ryan Chung, Vaishnavi Annamraju, and Angela Dong.  Hongning Wang and Christopher Dickman scored in the top 5% of students who took ... read full article

Blackwell's annual  Gingerbread  House Contest will be held on Friday December 15!      You and your child do not need to be expert decorators or bakers to participate. Kits can be purchased at the store and are easy to complete. Have you always wanted to showcase your math skills and problem-solving abilities at a national wide math tournament? Well now is your chance!    Blackwell PTSA is hosting the Math Challenge Tournament on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 6:00pm in the Blackwell Gym.   This math tournament is open to Grade 2- 5 students.   All participants will receive a certificate. There is already 3" of snow at the top of Snoqualmie so hopefully it is going to be another great season.  This will be the seventh year SSCS have taught Blackwell families to ski and with over 30 years teaching experience we are delighted to partner with them again this year to provide Blackwell students with the opportunity to learn to ski.
