Elizabeth Blackwell PTSA

Blackwell's Annual Gingerbread House Contest will be held on Friday December 20!

You and your child do not need to be expert decorators or bakers to participate. Kits can be purchased at the store and are easy to complete. You just need candy, frosting, and a little bit of imagination.

Just bear in mind that your gingerbread creation must be at least 75% gingerbread.

Every student will have a chance to admire the gingerbread houses and vote for their favorite. Awards will be given to the top 3 houses in each grade - and there will be a TROPHY for the overall winner!

REGISTER NOW

If your child would like to take part, please register online using THIS FORM!.

All registrations must be submitted by December 18.

Please note: your child can choose to build the house on their own or as a family team with their Blackwell siblings.  In this case, the house will be judged in the grade corresponding to the oldest child.

SUBMITTING YOUR HOUSE

Students can drop off their houses at one of the following times:

·        Thursday 12/19 between 3:30 and 4:30

·        Friday 12/20 between 8:00 and 9:00

Simply come to the main entrance of the school, and follow signs to the drop-off point.

VIEWING & JUDGING THE HOUSES

The students will be judging the houses throughout the day, and the winners will be announced before the end of the day!  Parents are also welcome to come to the library between 9:30 and 3:00 to take a look at the houses.

PICKING UP THE HOUSES

Don't forget to pick up your houses at the end of the day!  As it is the last day before winter break, we will unfortunately have to discard any houses that are not picked up by 4:30pm.  (We do not want furry little friends moving in while we are all away).

If you can not pick up your child’s wonderful house, beg a friend to do it for you!

ANY QUESTIONS?  WANT TO VOLUNTEER?

If you have any questions about the contest or houses, please contact your Gingerbread House chair, Heather Hodges at heatherhodges@outlook.com.

We are looking for volunteers to help us run the event - to help coordinate the viewing and voting process throughout the day as well as to help with setting up, drop-off and tear down.  If you have time to help out, please email heatherhodges@outlook. com. Thank you!

HAPPY BAKING!
